Tips for clearning lung congesion & postnasal drip
Jun 9th 2025
With any type of infection, supporting the gut should always be top priority.
Despite the fact this entire site is built around selling herbal supplements, my highest recommendation would be to ensure your diet is clean (no processed or refined foods, no pasteurised A1 dairy, modern wheat is junk - try sprouted Einkorn instead, no soy...) and to make fermented foods at home.
Fermented foods are your friend! You can have milk kefir, kimchi, sauerkraut (in my humble opinion, red kraut is far more palatable than white). Those are just a few suggestions. Some people will rely on kombucha but that isn't a good plan. Some batches have probiotics - some don't. You would need to test every batch to be sure.
You can purchase a good lung tincture or syrup. We offer Cough Syrup and will soon be offering two tinctures for you to choose from.
More suggestions:
*Fire cider is great for hitting any type of infection hard and fast - as is our extreme winter support (only typically available seasonally)
*Thyme tea as it loosens chest gunk. Use hot but not boiling water and let it steep for 10-15 mins. Fresh leaves are always best!
*Steam inhalation with eucalyptus or thyme can really help clear stuff out.
*Get walking, if you’re not already, and drink lots of water to flush things out.
Personally, I would begin by taking 1000mg vitamin c per hour (Here are two options 100% pure and Organic food sourced and I’d have 2tbsp fermented foods with each meal. It’s both a gentle and also a very effective way of kicking infection fast.
